Lauryn Johnson, Kayla McNeil, and British Maxey have been awarded the Girl Scout Silver award by Girl Scouts – N.C. Coastal Pines. The Silver award is the second highest achievement in Girl Scouting. For their Silver award project, the girls engaged with a variety of assistance organizations to help others in their community, including the Durham Rescue Mission, the Ronald McDonald House, the Dove House and the Genesis Home. They also worked at Geek-A-Thon, helping refurbish PCs for deserving students. During the National Day of Service they prepared baskets for residents transitioning from homelessness.
