Civic Notes, May 11

Rita Foley, president of Tobaccoland Kiwanis Club of Durham, recently presented a check for $500 to Julie Marshall, Executive Director of Crayons2Calculators at the May 5 meeting of the club. Marshall was the speaker at the meeting. The mission of Crayons2Calculators is to serve the educational and creative needs of the students in the Durham Public Schools by providing free school supplies to classroom teachers. Funds donated to Crayons2Calculators were from ticket sales generated from the club's annual Pancake Jamboree.
