of Durham was recently honored with the Governor’s Volunteer Service Award at the Granville County Board of Commissioners meeting in Oxford. The organization was recognized for outstanding service to the Murdoch Developmental Center in Butner for the past 32 years.

Duke Law School Archibald C. and Frances Fulk Rufty Research Professor of Law and Senior Associate Dean for Information Services, has been named the 2014 American Association of Law Libraries Distinguished Lectureship Award winner. The Distinguished Lectureship Award is an opportunity for AALL members with a unique perspective on the history, practice or philosophy of law librarianship to share their knowledge and expertise at the AALL Annual Meeting. The recipient chooses the topic for the lecture, which is also published in the Law Library Journal.
• 2nd LieutenantMichael Armour
, of Durham, recently graduated from the United States Air Force Academy. Armour is the youngest son of TSgt (AF Retired) John and Lisa Armour. He is a 2009 graduate of Riverside High School in Durham. Armour, after four years of study, earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Military and Strategic Studies and was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. He will be report to Vance Air Force Base, Ok., next, where he will continue his training to become an Air Force pilot. He follows into the military after both his parents, his older brothers SSgt Daniel Armour (NC Army National Guard) and Sgt Jerry Armour (US Marines) who are both currently serving.
