Jordan evened its boys’ lacrosse record at 4-4 (3-1 conference) Saturday with a 17-5 blowout win at Roxboro Community School (3-4). Owen Perrien and Alex Wheet each scored a game-high four goals, while Jesse Melton had three goals and dished two assists. Connor Love, Patrick Rowe, Sam Helwig, Sam Collie, Nick Paulson and Dorian Gothard each added one goal.
The win was Jordan’s third straight in conference play and kept it right on the heels of league-leading East Chapel Hill (6-3, 4-0).
“We began our season playing against some of the toughest competition possible,” coach Jamie Sliwa said. “I think our guys have learned a lot from this and are developing into a solid team. We have a long way to go, but pulling back to .500 was a very important first step for the team.”
