Wake County Public Schools named Rebecca Beaulieu, the principal of C.M. Eppes Middle School in Greenville, as the new principal of East Wake Middle School, last week.
She will take over for East Wake Middle’s interim principal, Roy Teel, on Aug. 8.
The appointment leaves only one Knightdale school without a permanent principal. Knightdale Elementary will begin its school year with interim principal Vicky Perry, who has been in that position since late 2013.
Beaulieu is coming from an 18-year career in several Greenville schools, spanning all grade levels.
She most recently spent 10 years at C.M. Eppes Middle School first as an assistant principal from 2004-2009 and then principal from 2010 to this year.
Beaulieu began her career as a teacher at Ayden-Grifton High School in Pitt County in 1996. In 1998, she spent two years in an administrative internship and in 2000, became assistant principal at Elmhurst Elementary School, in Greenville.
From 2001 to 2003, Beaulieu was assistant principal at Farmville Central High School and then moved on to be assistant principal at W.H. Robinson Elementary from 2003-2004.
Beaulieu received a Bachelor’s of Science in English education from East Carolina University in 1995 and went on to receive her Master’s in Education in 1997 and a Master’s in Administration in 2000 from ECU as well.
Beaulieu‘s starting salary will be $86,931. East Wake Middle’s previous principal, Nancy Allen, earned a yearly salary of $100,084.
