A couple living near Wendell in Johnston County were found dead last Friday afternoon after a murder-suicide, Johnston County’s Sheriff’s Office said.

Gerald Harris, 55, and Pamela Howard, 52 were found dead from apparent gunshot wounds in Harris’s home at 159 Deer Tracks Dr., around 3:20 p.m.

The Sheriff’s Office has not released information about who did the shooting.

Tammy Amaon with the Johnston County Sherriff’s Office said Harris and Howard were previously married and divorced and it appeared that the two were working on getting back together.

Amaon said the office knows the couple had adult children and some of them lived in the home with them.
