Wake County schools ask for $39 million more from commissioners

On Tuesday, the Wake County school board approved a $1.3 billion operating budget that requests a $39.3 million increase from commissioners to help provide pay raises for teachers. Board members also were told that no changes in school times are needed because of construction work on I-40.
