East Wake students study accessibility

East Wake School of Integrated Technology students recently presented their findings from a study on the public accessibility of people with disabilities to Wendell Commissioner Jon Lutz.

Civics teacher Jamie Lemmond’s students gathered data using self-generated rubrics based on ADA standards.

Students also spent time both in wheelchairs and blindfolded to help them understand the difficulties that might be experienced by the physically disabled.
