A Wendell man was charged with assault by strangulation and assault with a deadly weapon resulting in serious injury last weekend.

The victim alleged Robert Wayne Allmon, 28, bruised her and strangled her with his bands.

Warrants say Allmon also hit the victim with a 2x4 board, which resulted in serious injury.

It will not be his first assault charge: In 2012, he was ordered to enroll in court-ordered anger management after being charged with assault and battery and simple assault.

He had five traffic violations in 2010 and in 2007 and had to pay $1,000 in restitution for possessing stolen goods.
