Knightdale woman charged with conspiring to take 25 dresses from mall store

Police took a Knightdale woman into custody over the weekend after she was accused of conspiring with someone to steal 25 women’s dresses from a Belk’s store at The Streets at Southpoint shopping mall in Durham.

RALEIGH Police took a Knightdale woman into custody over the weekend after she was accused of conspiring with someone to steal 25 women’s dresses from a Belk’s store at The Streets at Southpoint shopping mall in Durham.

Rachelle D. Simpson, 24, of 2040 Ballston Drive in Knightdale was charged by Durham police with one felony count each of larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny, according to an arrest warrant filed at the Wake County Magistrate’s Office.

Simpson remained in custody at the Wake County jail late Sunday morning under a $25,000 bail, court records show.

Police say the incident occurred May 22.

Investigators have accused Simpson of conspiring with another woman to take the dresses, which have a total value of $1,237.50, court records show.
