A Wendell man had 2 pounds of cocaine in a vehicle one day in May, according to Wake County sheriff's deputies who arrested him Wednesday afternoon in Garner.

Robert Lee Alston, 32, of 3301 Trail Drive in Wendell was named in an arrest warrant charging him with two counts of cocaine trafficking and with maintaining a vehicle as a place to keep drugs.

The warrant said the offenses happened May 28, when a deputy charged that Alston had 907 grams of cocaine.

According to records, deputies arrested Alston on White Oak Road in Garner.

Alston also was charged with identification theft and resisting arrest, and he was being held on $525,000 bail for a court appearance Friday.
