Knightdale is looking for youngsters who want to perform at the K-Fest talent show, whether it’s singing, dancing, playing an instrument or even acting in a skit.
This will be the first year of K-Fest, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Knightdale Station Park’s picnic shelters and nearby field. It is taking the place of Community Day, which the town celebrated for nearly 20 years.
There will be auditions Monday, July 11; Wednesday, July 13; Friday, July 15 and Thursday, July 21 in the Town Council chambers at Town Hall, 950 Steeple Square Court. Contact Town Clerk Whitney Ledford at 919-217-2225 or firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an audition.
Video submissions are welcome, especially for children auditioning as a group.
“It’s the first year, so we’re kind of testing the waters now,” Ledford said. “I think next year when people see it, we’ll get more.”
There will also be visual art by Knightdale children on display.
The “K” stands for kid, and the festival will concentrate on education, wellness, diversity and cultural arts, with more than 40 community partners expected to have exhibits emphasizing resources available to children.
