Mendelev to perform at Wakefield Central Baptist

Euorpean tenor Viktor Mendelev will perform at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, at Wakefield Central Baptist Church, 308 Proctor St., Zebulon. Mendelev will perform Christian music during both services.

Laureate of international contest Romansiada 2013, Mendelev graduated from the Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov State Music College in Mogilev where he had principally studied chorus conducting. In 2009, he entered the Belarusian State Academy of Music (class of the People’s Artist of Belarus, Prof. Pyotr Rigider). He joined the opera company of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus in 2013.

His repertoire includes: Don Curzio Le nozze di Figaro, The Priest Die Zauberflöte, The Armoured Man Die Zauberflöte, Monostatos Die Zauberflöte, The Prince of Persia Turandot and The Emperor Turandot.
