Wendell resident Carl Harrington has been named the Outstanding Teacher of American History by the North Carolina Daughters of the American Revolution. Harrington was nominated by the Smith-Bryan Chapter of the North Carolina Society, Daughters of the American Revolution in Smithfield.
Harrington has been on the faculty at East Wake Academy since 2009. Prior to that, he worked at East Wake High School and Hertford County High School. At East Wake Academy, Harrington’s primary teaching focus is on Honors U.S. History and Advanced Placement U.S. History. He was named the Teacher of the Year at East Wake Academy and is in the running for the North Carolina Teacher of the Year award.
He will be recognized at the DAR’s state conference in April. He and his wife Stacey have one daughter, Leah.
