Kids’ and teens’ activities
The East Regional Library hosts activities for children and teenagers at 946 Steeple Square Court, Knightdale.
Reading for kids in kindergarten through second grade will be at 6 p.m. Tuesdays in May. Activities for third through fifth grade students will be at 4:30 p.m. Thursdays. Teen Scene for sixth- through tenth-grade students is at 6 p.m. Mondays.
Teen Leadership Corps
The East Regional Library’s Teen Leadership Corps orientation and training will be 2-3 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 946 Steeple Square Court, Knightdale.

Zebulon Swimming Pool Association
The Swim Team Parents/Swimming Kick-off meeting is from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at the ZSPA site, 309 West Glenn St. Email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The swim team is seeking swimmers ages 3-18. Practices are from May 23 through July 24, mornings and/or evenings. ZSPA membership is required.

Food Truck Thursdays
Food trucks visit Knightdale Station Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Thursdays at 810 N. First Ave. The complete schedule is online at knightdalenc.gov.

Knightdale’s beach-themed Mother & Son Party is 6-9 p.m. Friday, May 6, at the Knightdale Recreation Center, 102 Lawson Ridge Road.

Wendell Farmer’s Market
The market’s vegetable plant giveaway is 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 7, on the corner of Pine Street and Wendell Boulevard.
Opening Day is 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 14, with a strawberry shortcake eating contest at 11 a.m. There will be children’s activities, a food truck, music and more. wendellncfm.org.
Public Safety Day
The Wendell Police Department’s eighth annual Public Safety Day is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at 9 S. Pine St.
“Star Wars” Fest with a screening of the “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” animated movie, crafts, activities and books is noon to 2:45 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at the East Regional Library, 946 Steeple Square Court, Knightdale.

The library also offers book recommendations on “Star Wars” and science fiction for adults in a drop-in session from noon to 2:30 p.m.

Outdoor Movie Night
Knightdale’s Outdoor Movie Night continues this spring. Movies will be shown for free at dusk at the Knightdale Station Park Amphitheater, 810 N. First Ave. Bring chairs or a blanket.

East Wake High School’s PTSA hosts a yard sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 14, in the school student parking lot at 5101 Rolesville Road, Wendell.

Ready, Set, School Community Playdate
Marbles Kids Museum at the Library visits the East Regional Library from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at 946 Steeple Square Court, Knightdale.
The Knightdale Community Pool opens on Saturday, May 28, and will be open through Monday, Sept. 5.
Support Group for Caregivers
The Support Group for Caregivers, sponsored by Resources for Seniors, is led by a trained Alzheimer’s facilitator. Regular meetings are from 9:30-11 a.m. the second Wednesday of each month at the Wendell Community Center, 601 W. Third St., Wendell. NAMI Connections Support Group
