Wendell’s police, fire and rescue squad personnel will be on hand next Saturday for the 8th annual Public Safety Day event, along with representatives of several other law enforcement and emergency service agencies.
The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. is well worth your time, not necessarily because you get to learn more about the Fish and Wildlife Commission’s work, but because the folks who take care of you locally, who help protect you and your property, will be there to meet you and talk about how they do what they do.
In most cases, circumstances are not all that great when police, fire or rescue come to your house, but you can be sure their arrival will be helpful. It’s also helpful to know who some of these people are. In stressful times, it is helpful to see a familiar face showing up to help.
So take some time next Saturday to visit downtown Wendell and meet these folks who care for all of us.
