Why Randolph-Macon? “When I visited the school all of the coaches and players treated me with a lot of respect. You could tell there’s no difference between the seniors and the incoming freshman in the way they’re treated. I just felt wanted there and I feel like I will have a good chance to play there.”
Major: Business Management or Environmental Studies
Notable: Justin was second on the Corinth Holders defense averaging 7.3 tackles a game as a senior playing mainly strong safety. He’s also played cornerback for the Pirates and projects as a hybrid “Jacket” nickel defensive back/rover linebacker for the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon. “I definitely like the hybrid position because I feel like my strength is helping support against the run or stopping the short passing game.” … He wants to improve his speed and recovery times and in one-on-one coverage assignments before he begins his college career. … Justin was a part of the transformation of the Corinth Holders football program, which didn’t exist until he (and the rest of the class of 2014) entered the school as freshmen in August of 2011. “Taking a school where everybody came in with no idea of being a group, wearing Clayton, Smithfield-Selma and North Johnston stuff as freshman,” he said, “to one that made back-to-back playoff trips as juniors and seniors is something I’m proud to have been a part of.”
Corinth Holders football coach Barry Honeycutt: “Justin is one of those guys who puts everything into and uses every bit of his talent to its fullest potential. He will find a way to fit in and get on the field in his first year.”
