Why Greensboro? Raleigh (6 feet, 210 pounds), who transferred to East Wake from Clayton after one game his senior season, said he met some professors that were particularly nice and guaranteed guidance through the whole class. “I chose Greensboro College because everyone on campus made me feel welcome and a part of the family the first day I came,” he said.

Major: Athletic Training

Most memorable: “The most memorable thing that happened at Clayton was Coach (Gary) Fowler’s last season coaching at Clayton High … he was the only and best coach that really changed the way I play football (and) respect others.” Raleigh said Fowler taught him to compare football to life lessons he has experienced, and those he will experience in the future.

Notable: Raleigh was a two-year varsity player at inside linebacker for the Comets, known to stay in position and create turnovers.

Former Clayton defensive coordinator Brian Roach: “He’s a solid athlete. He had two or three picks and was one of those kids that really had a nose for the ball. He was all over his reads and all over the football. He was always where he was supposed to be and very dependable. Based on what I saw from his junior year, he’s going to put the work in that’s going to be necessary for him to be successful. I think he’s going to do fine at (Greensboro).”
