Chase Jones to play soccer at Bridgewater

Parents: David and Kim Jones

Parents: David and Kim Jones

High School: Clayton

Club Team: N.C. Alliance Real

Also Considered: Lees McRae

Why Bridgewater? “I really made a connection with the coach and they had the program I wanted to study in physical therapy/exercise science. It’s a great fit from an academic and soccer standpoint.”

Notable: Chase was the Greater Neuse River 4A Conference defensive player of the year in his senior season and also earned all-region honors. He expects to continue to play fullback at the college level. He played some up front for Clayton High but has spent all of his club soccer career – first with JUSA, then with Alliance Real – on defense. … “I like playing right fullback and having some chances to push up and help the offense at times,” he said. “I know I need to get in college soccer shape so I’m ready for 90 full minutes up and down the field.” … Among his best memories at Clayton are winning the JUSA Cup in back-to-back years and his game-winning goal against Corinth Holders that started the 2014 season.
