Police fundraiser supports Special Olympics

The Garner Police Department will host its semi-annual Cops on Top fundraiser event Thursday, May 12 through Saturday, May 14 from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. There will be special family day activities on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. including a stuffed cow drop, inflatables, face painting, cornhole and emergency vehicles on display.

Garner grad Greg Milhouse is a New York Giant

Garner graduate Greg Milhouse realized his NFL dream shortly after the 2016 NFL Draft concluded on Saturday. The Campbell University defensive tackle went undrafted but signed a free agent contract with the New York Giants. He was the first player from the Camel’s eight-year-old program to sign with an NFL team.
