The Temple Choir joins Country Music Showcase guest performers Jordan Hines, Kings Way Quartet, Mara Wall, Louie Allen, LaRue Tart, Restyn Martin, Gloria Williams and Sandra Millard for uplifting gospel performances Oct. 3-4 at the Paul A. Johnston Auditorium on Johnston Community College’s Smithfield campus.
CMS is an opportunity for aspiring artists to perform in a state-of-the-art facility with a professional band and back-up singers in a two-day, multiple-show stint. Guest performers participate in a week of intense rehearsals, culminating in a full-length stage performance showcasing the talents of each guest performer.
Many performers have gone on to claim the national spotlight: The Malpass Brothers, Scotty McCreery, Clay Aiken and Dakota Hood (The Hunger Games) are just a few examples.
The show opens at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, in the Paul A. Johnston Auditorium. Additional shows are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Musical accompaniment for CMS ‘Where Stars Get Their Start’ is provided by The Temple Choir.
Individual show tickets are $12.50 in advance or $15 at the door for evening performances and $10 in advance or $12.50 at the door for the 2 p.m. matinee. Tickets are available online at jccperformingarts.com and through the JCC Box Office by calling 919-209-2099 Monday through Friday from 1:30 to 5 p.m.
