Even though the calendar has turned to September, Garner will have once last chance to view Dog Days.
The Town of Garner will host another Friday Family Flick at Lake Benson Park Friday night as it shows “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days” at Lake Benson Park on Sept. 5.
The movie will start at 7:45 p.m. on the main stage with seating on the grassy slope. Blankets and chairs are encouraged at the free event, and while refreshments will be sold, coolers are welcome.
Alcoholic beverages are not permitted. This iteration of Friday Night Flicks does not include overnight camping.
Never miss a local story.
Food Truck Rodeo
While the movie night might be the last of the year, it’s not the last outdoor event planned by the town.
The town has been putting together a food truck rodeo downtown at the site of the future recreation center on Sunday, Oct. 26.
The town has arranged to bring in eight food trucks to set up shop, and currently is working to accomodate a local craft brewery as well.
Information from the town about the new recreation center planned for the site will also be availible at the event on Main Street at the corner of Montague Street.
