Hall of Fame
Bernard Redfield, owner of Redfield Martial Arts, has been inducted into the USA Martial Artist Hall of Fame as the 2014 Korean Martial Arts Master of the Year. The induction took place Sept. 6 in College Park, Ga. Inductees are selected from thousands of nominations from past inductees received every year.
Students from Redfield Martial Arts traveled to York, Pa., to compete in the Central Pennsylvania Karate Championships hosted by United Tang Soo Do Alliance. The event featured divisions in Sparring, Board Breaking, Open Hand and Weapon forms. The Garner team came away with nine medals among the three competitors, who were aged from 7 years to adult. Joseph Snyder, 13-year-old second degree black belt, led the team with Gold in Weapons and Breaking, and Silver in Sparring and Forms. Joshua Whitaker, 7, followed with a gold medal in Sparring, a silver in Forms and a bronze in Breaking. Donna Resner took silver in both Forms and Breaking.

Andrea D. Barefoot was one of 1,622 students who received their degrees from Boston University in September. Barefoot received a Doctor of Physical Therapy in Physical Therapy.
