Johnston County Festival of Trees
The tenth annual Festival of Trees, presented by Keep Johnston County Beautiful, Inc., will open to the public at 9 a.m. Dec. 6, at the Johnston Medical Mall on Brightleaf Boulevard in Smithfield. The event will run until noon , Dec. 14. The festival is a display of 55 decorated live Christmas trees sponsored by various businesses in the county. Live performances for visitors by school and church choirs, soloists, and other music and dance groups are scheduled throughout the festival. • Motheread is a 12-week self-paced program that combines the teaching of literacy skills with child development and family empowerment issues.
