Wonder: The Stories and Songs of Christmas
Local pop-pianist Dawn Michelle Williams and local radio personality Bill Jordan will perform “Wonder: The Songs and Stories of Christmas” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at the Garner Performing Arts Center, 742 W. Garner Road, Garner. The show pairs Williams’ dynamic music with excerpts from local author Marianne Jordan’s new book, “The First Christmas Carol,” narrated by Bill Jordan. Supported by a full band and children’s choir, the performance will include well-known Christmas carols, along with lesser-known tunes.

3-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19: The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will stop in to accept donations for its blood bank. To register in advance, visit www.redcrossblood.org and log in as “Wake Library.” Walk-in donors are also accepted.

Partnership for Children of Johnston County offers two programs for parents with young children.
• Motheread is a 12-week self-paced program that combines the teaching of literacy skills with child development and family empowerment issues.
• The Incredible Years parent program offers weekly group sessions for 14 to 16 weeks. Participants practice skills to promote children’s academic, social and emotional skills.
