Parent meeting rescheduled
Due to inclement weather, the Title VII American Indian Education Program parent meeting was rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 11. For more information, call 919-934-4361, ext. 371.
Make-up dates revised
Make-up days for Tracks 1, 2, and 4 at all year-round schools have been revised to the following Saturdays: Feb. 8 (revised from Feb. 1); Feb. 15 (revised from May 31); April 26; and May 3.
In addition, the following dates have been announced for other calendars to make up Friday, Jan. 31:• Traditional calendar schools: Wednesday, June 11.
• Modified-calendar schools: Monday, April 21.
• STEM / early colleges / leadership academies: Monday, April 21.
Parents of upcoming kindergarten children are encouraged to reserve a seat for their children for the first day of school by registering at the child’s school starting Monday, Feb. 17. Children must be 5 years old as of Aug. 31, 2014 to enroll.
Required items for registration include proof of age (birth certificate preferred), a parent/guardian’s picture identification with the same name as listed on the proof of age, physical examination form/immunization record, and proof of residence (utility bill, land contract, etc.).
A driver’s license is not adequate proof of residence. For more information, call 919-934-4361 ext. 303.
Scholastic Art Awards
Cleveland High student Eric Johnson has had his artwork selected as an American Vision award nominee for taking a Best In Show award at the Scholastic Art Awards. An image of his art work will be sent to New York City for the national exhibition held in June at the Corcoran Gallery, Washintgton, D.C.
