The Town of Garner’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department will host its annual Spring Eggstravaganza from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Lake Benson Park, 921 Buffaloe Road, Garner. Free tax preparation
The AARP Tax Aide program will assist taxpayers in electronically filing their federal and N.C. state tax returns from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and noon to 4 p.m. Thursdays at the Avery Street Annex, 201 Avery St., Garner. No appointments are necessary. Taxpayers and spouses, if filing jointly, must have picture IDs and Social Security cards for themselves and all dependents. If married, both taxpayers must be present. For a refund to be credited to a checking account, they must have a blank check, not a deposit slip. Taxpayers will need records of all income and expenses.
Scramble for the Arts
The Johnston County Arts Council will host its 8th annual Scramble for the Arts golf tournament at 11:45 a.m. Friday, April 25, at the Johnston Country Club, 694 Country Club Road, Smithfield. The entry fee is $60 per player and includes greens fees, cart, practice balls, a 50/50 drawing ticket, door prize ticket, putting contest, hospitality bag and a meal during the award ceremony at the end of the tournament.
