▪ Bad to the Bones: CSI Camp
Spend a week of your summer vacation diving into the world of forensic science. 8 a.m. to noon, June 22 - 25, Johnston Community College, Public Safety Services Building. Cost is $85. Registration is April 1 – June 8.

▪ Cooking Camp: Chef in Training
Learn cooking basics. Ask questions, experiment with tastes and have fun. 8 a.m. to noon, July 13 - 16, Johnston County Workforce Development Center, Clayton. Cost is $130. Registration is April 6 – July 2.
▪ STEM Summer Camp
Explore science, technology, engineering and math in an exciting way. 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., July 20 -23, Johnston County Workforce Development Center, Clayton. Cost is $150. Registration is April 1 – July 19.
Art club designs Archer Lodge Veterans Memorial
The Corinth Holders High School Art Patron's Club submitted the winning design for the Archer Lodge Veterans Memorial.
The memorial consists of black marble pillars with the insignia of the branches of service. Veterans or families can purchase pavers to honor the veteran's service. The walkway will be constructed of the named pavers
All branches of service, Coast Guard, National Guard, and POW/MIA will be honored. All veterans in the surrounding area are welcome to be a part of the memorial.
There will be a ribbon-cutting and ground-breaking ceremony for the memorial at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 11, next to Archer Lodge Town Hall, 14094 Buffalo Road, Clayton.

▪ MS PowerPoint Certification 2010: 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, April 7-23, at the Workforce Development Center. Registration is $72.
▪ Notary Public: This 6-hour class will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, April 17, at the Clayton location. Registration is $70 plus book fees.

The Board of Directors of the Johnston County Community Foundation is currently accepting applications for the Ernestine J. Williams Scholarship. To learn about the qualifications for the scholarship, and to register, go to nccommunityfoundation.org. Applications for the renewable scholarship are due by April 11.
Johnston Community College DNA Discovery Day
Johnston Community College presents DNA Discovery Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Johnston County Workforce Development Center, 135 Best Wood Drive, Clayton. This event is part of the 2015 North Carolina Science Festival. JCC faculty from biology, chemistry, physics, biotechnology, latent evidence, human anatomy and physical education will be on hand with lots of educational information and activities designed to stimulate science understanding. The event is free and open to the public.
