National Day of Prayer
A National Day of Prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 15772 N.C. 50 North in Garner.

Classic Car Show at Mount Zion UMC
Mount Zion United Methodist Church will host a Classic Car Show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9. Antique cars, classic cars, muscle cars are all welcome. There will be drawings for door prizes, music, concessions and games. The event is free, but canned goods and monetary donations for the Smithfield Rescue Mission are appreciated. The Growing Place

Weeknight Worship Service
Mount Zion United Methodist Church will hold a Thursday night worship service at 7:30 p.m. beginning May 14. The church is at 15772 N.C. 50 North, Garner.
A food pantry is open from 9 a.m. to noon on the second Saturday of each month at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 1082 Amelia Church Road, Clayton. The food is free to anyone presenting an ID card. For more information, call 919-553-9770.
▪ Men’s Bible study of Johnston County continues a verse-by-verse study of the Gospel of St. Matthew 7-8:30 p.m. Mondays at First Baptist Church, 202 S. Fourth St., Smithfield. This study group runs through May. Visit www.mbsjohnstoncounty.com.
