Lucas completes course
Emily Lucas, finance director with the town of Garner, graduated from the 2014-15 Municipal & County Administration Course of the School of Government at UNC at Chapel Hill.
Course instruction covers North Carolina local government law, organization and management, finance and budgeting, employment law and administration, planning and regulation of development and the delivery of specific city or county services.

Four Garner residents were among 84 Johnston Community College students named to the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society. Local students inducted include: Yvette Boyd, Jared Cardin, Simone Gillespie and Leland Stroud. Phi Theta Kappa inductees must have completed at least 12 hours of coursework toward an associate degree and have a 3.5 grade point average.
