Concert to benefit victims of earthquake
Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church will have a festival of hymns and organ music for Pentecost, at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 24, at 2723 Clark Ave., Raleigh. Proceeds from a free-will offering, augmented by matching funds from Thrivent Financial, will go to Lutheran World Relief. All the money will be earmarked for Nepal earthquake relief. Hearts for Barry event
Local radio ministry We Care Promotions is presenting a benefit concert, “Big Hearts for Barry,” 5 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at the Alliance Medical Ministry Center, on 101 Donald Ross Road, in Raleigh. The concert features performances by North Carolina based singing quartets to raise funds to aid Garner resident Barry Batts, who has heart-related health issues, and his family. Admission is free and there will be a love offering for the Batts family.

Bingo and Bazaar
Elizabeth United Methodist Church will host Bingo and a Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 6. Bingo will be played from noon to 3 p.m. The event is sponsored by Elizabeth United Methodist Women’s group to raise funds for its missions both locally and globally. $20 will buy a spot in the bazaar. All spots are outdoors (bring your own table). The church requests that each participant in the Bazaar donate one item worth $10 or more to be used as a Bingo prize. Weeknight Worship Service
Mount Zion United Methodist Church has started a Thursday night worship service at 7:30 p.m. The church is at 15772 N.C. 50 North, Garner.
A food pantry is open from 9 a.m. to noon on the second Saturday of each month at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 1082 Amelia Church Road, Clayton. The food is free to anyone presenting an ID card. For more information, call 919-553-9770.
