Barbecue chicken dinner
Mount Zion United Methodist Church is holding its annual Bar-B-Que Chicken Fundraiser at 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 15772 NC 50 N, (¼ mile south of the intersection of Hwy 50 and Hwy 42) in Garner. Community Family Fun Day

Mount Zion UMC Golf Tournament
Golfers are invited to Mount Zion United Methodist Church’s annual golf tournament at noon on Friday, Sept. 25, at the Riverwood Golf Course, 400 Riverwood Drive, Clayton. There will be a chance at a $100,000 shootout and golfers will have the opportunity to win $10,000 for a hole in one during tournament play. Prizes will be awarded for 1st-, 2nd- and 3rd-place. Golfers are invited to participate in the Aversboro Road Baptist Church golf tournament at 1 p.m. Sept. 25, at the Raleigh Golf Association. All proceeds from the tournament go to support local, national and international missions. Entry fee is $60 per player or $240 for a four-player team and includes golf, cart, goodie bags, lunch and refreshments. Holes may be sponsored for $100 and memorials are $60.
