Blackman’s Grove Baptist Church
Blackman’s Grove Baptist Church is having its homecoming at 11 a.m. Sept. 13, 5980 Stricklands Crossroads Road, Four Oaks. Rev. Jerry Hicks will bring the message. In addition, the church is having a dedication service for its new sanctuary and refurbished building at 3 p.m. on the same day. The service will include Blackman’s Grove Choir and Children’s Choir and key members of the church. Pastor Jerry Hicks will offer the Statement of Dedication. Following the service, the facilities will be available for viewing and refreshments.

Maple Temple United Church of Christ will celebrate its annual Men’s Day on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 304 Dacian Road, Raleigh. This observance will occur during the 10 a.m. morning worship service. The guest speaker will be minister Curtis Bunn. All are welcome to attend.
The kick-off for AWANA Club will be held at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at Hayes Chapel Christian’s Fellowship Hall. Children of all ages are welcome.
Community Family Fun Day
Plymouth Church is offering a free Community Family Fun Day: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 19, 6104 Rock Service Station Road, Raleigh. The event features a clown, face painting, balloons, a bouncy house, a Chick-fil-A cow, laser tag, food, fire trucks, crafts, games and more.
Family Movie Night

Mount Zion UMC Golf Tournament
Golfers are invited to Mount Zion United Methodist Church’s annual golf tournament at noon on Friday, Sept. 25, at the Riverwood Golf Course, 400 Riverwood Drive, Clayton. There will be a chance at a $100,000 shootout and golfers will have the opportunity to win $10,000 for a hole in one during tournament play. Prizes will be awarded for 1st-, 2nd- and 3rd-place. Golfers are invited to participate in the Aversboro Road Baptist Church golf tournament at 1 p.m. Sept. 25, at the Raleigh Golf Association. All proceeds from the tournament go to support local, national and international missions. Entry fee is $60 per player or $240 for a four-player team and includes golf, cart, goodie bags, lunch and refreshments. Holes may be sponsored for $100 and memorials are $60. 5K Walk for Life
Word of God Fellowship Church is sponsoring it’s 2nd annual 5K Walk for Life from at 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 26, at Lake Benson, 921 Buffaloe Road, Garner. The Walk for Life raises funds to educate at-risk youth by closing the academic gap. Games and story telling events for children, food vendors and Walgreens (Immunization) is at selected shelters. Annual choir day
The Mass Choir of Maple Temple United Church of Christ will have its annual Choir Day Celebration on Sept. 26-27, at 304 Dacian Road, Raleigh. On Saturday the choir will host a music workshop at 10 a.m. The facilitator for the workshop will be Phillip Langston of Wake Chapel Church. The Sunday celebration will begin at 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church is hosting a music event presented by the group Mercy’s Cross, at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, in Willow Springs.
Hayes Chapel Christian Church will have their homecoming service on Sept. 27 at the church. The church is the oldest one in Garner and will be celebrating 155 years. The speaker is Brother Scott Sivnksty. Lunch will be served after the service. Please bring a covered dish.
