Why Syracuse? “Before I took my visit to the school, I already knew some of the girls on the team. Then when I went on my visit, I just loved the campus. It’s going to be a new experience and college is supposed to be about experiencing new things.”
Major: Forensic Sciences
Notable: Jade was named the MVP of the NCHSAA 4A regional championships last year, helping Southeast reach the state championship game. She was also an all-conference selection in the Greater Neuse River 4A Conference. Yes, she knows it is going to be cold in upstate New York in the winter. “I’ll just take a lot of warm clothes.” Jade wants to get stronger with her left hand to become a more versatile player as she gets ready for college ball. The first meeting between Syracuse and N.C. State will be interesting in the 2015-16 season with Jade meeting longtime teammate (dating back to their middle school days) Amber Richardson on the court.
Southeast Raleigh coach Nicole Meyers: “Jade has come a long way from a player who had limited playing time as a freshman and sophomore. At the beginning of last year, you could see a change in her mindset on the court. She also has a flair to her game that is very exciting and is a natural scorer.”
