Notable: Beau was a NCISAA all-state selection this past season after earning all-conference honors for the previous two seasons. He received the Bulldogs’ Doug Buckner Award for the 2012 and 2013 seasons, which goes to the football team MVP. He totaled 5,359 offensive yards and 47 touchdowns during his career. … Beau is the first player in school history to run for more than 1,000 yards (1,203) and throw for more than 1,000 yards (1,502) in the same season. … He’s been told he will get the chance to play quarterback at Lenoir Rhyne. He didn’t start playing quarterback until the seventh grade, about the time Tim Tebow was dominating with the University of Florida. “Tim Tebow was one of the guys who really made we want to be a quarterback, who showed me that somebody like me could play quarterback,” Beau said. “He’s someone I’ve really modeled my game after. Him and Russell Wilson.” … Beau, a 13-year attendee of Wake Christian, is also a standout baseball player. … He wants to become a teacher and coach at the high school level after college.
