Parents: Jimmie and Michele Sanders
High School: Neuse Charter
Club Team: N.C. Red Storm
Height, Weight: 6-foot, 160 pounds
Also Considered: Belmont Abbey, Brevard
Why St. Andrews? “It felt like home when I stepped onto the campus. And I felt like the coaches were always talking to me and they really wanted me to be a part of the program.”
Notable: Jourdan helped Neuse Charter win the Carolina 1A Conference boys basketball championship in the school’s first season as an NCHSAA member. The Cougars advanced to the third round of the state playoffs. … Jourdan didn’t wait for his dad, Neuse Charter coach Jimmie Sanders Jr., to ask if he wanted to attend the school. “My first question for him was, ‘Where is Neuse Charter School?’,” Jourdan recalled upon hearing his dad had been named head basketball coach at the school. A little investigating followed and it didn’t take Jourdan long to decide to make the move from playing at Cleveland High School as well. “I wasn’t as focused as much on my grades and I needed to be,” he said. “And I just felt like here I would do a better job in a smaller school environment.” ... He wants to go into the health field for his career.
