Rams complete unbeaten run to soccer title
Cleveland finished up an unbeaten run in Eastern Carolina 3A Conference girls soccer play with a 9-0 win over South Johnston Wednesday night. The Rams have won last 14 matches, including a 5-2 non-conference win over Corinth Holders Tuesday.
Erin Truelove and Monique Torres continued their offensive onslaughts in the two wins. Truelove had five goals against South, running her season total to 48, while Torres picked up four assists and now had 38 on the season.
The Rams (15-1) will begin play in the Eastern Carolina 3A Conference tournament this week. They are the defending event champions.

Trojans run streak to 15 straight
Garner won its 15th straight baseball game, topping Smithfield-Selma 12-1 on Tuesday. The Trojans are 10-0 in the Greater Neuse River 4A Conference.
South rallies to defeat Cleveland
South Johnston rallied from a 9-2 deficit to down Cleveland 12-9 Tuesday night.
Cleveland built a 9-2 lead in the first three innings behind the bats of Brittany Bucklin (2-for-5, two doubles) and Jodi Morgan (2-for-4, double). But South closed with a four-run fourth and three-run frames in the fifth and sixth. Madison Byrd was 3-for-4 with a home run for South; Kayla Allen and Krista Collins had two-hit games.
