Notable: Nick is a four-year letterman in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track for Garner. He will run both cross country and distance runs at Belmont Abbey. … He started running cross country as a freshman just basically to stay in shape. “During my sophomore year, my times started dropping and I realized that I really enjoyed running and saw it as something I could excel at,” Nick said. “I just kept working hard.” … He ran mainly the 800, 1,600, 3,200 and 3,200-meter relay in high school. His favorite race is the 1,600 and the 4:53 he ran in that event he calls his most proud high school running achievement. That run came in the Wake County Championships in 2014. “That was the best feeling I’ve ever had in running.” … He’s thankful for the memories he created at Garner with his teammates and coaches. “That’s what I’ll remember from my running here and is most important to me,” he said. … Nick wants to improve his running mindset and improve his training for college. … He is interested in either the accounting field or becoming an actuary. He plans to earn his masters degree after his undergrad work is complete.
