Why LCC? “I liked the location of it and the coaches were great. I got along well with the players I met.”
Notable: Parker played the outfield, the middle infield and pitched for Cleveland, but he projects as an outfielder at Lenoir. He likes the opportunity there to advance to higher levels of college baseball. “That’s what I’m looking forward to, the chance to keep playing baseball if I play well and the option to transfer to a bigger school to finish my education.” … He wants to go into agricultural business studies. … Parker was a two-year varsity player for the Rams. “Our senior class was special, making the playoffs for the first time. I was glad that we were the group to do it. Just playing with guys I’ve played with for so long were really special.” … He knows his hitting needs to improve to be successful at the college level.
Cleveland coach Jamie Lee: “Parker played a lot of different positions for us this year, really helped us out there and he did a really good job as a spot starter on the mound, going 3-0 there. He’s a key member of a graduation class that helped us go from a program that struggled for wins to one that’s turned into a playoff team.”
