Why Emory & Henry? “It’s a really good football program at a prestigious school. I was impressed that they won the conference championship last year. And since I grew up in a small town, all the open fields made it feel like home.”
Notable: Isaiah played wide receiver and free safety in one season at WCA after transferring from Southside High in Chocowinity. He had 511 receiving yards for nine TDs and was in on 69 tackles with three interceptions, forced two fumbles, recovered two and had two blocked punts. ... Isaiah started as a sophomore at Southside, was co-captain, team MVP and all-conference safety as a junior. He was a three-year starting center in basketball received three player- of-the-year honors and was on a fifth-place 4x400 team at NCHSAA Class 1A track meet as a junior. ... Isaiah has volunteered with Miracle League of the Triangle.
Wake Christian football coach Stephen Cochran: “He’s pretty strong. He did a good job on both sides of the ball. His mama didn’t want him to play after he broke his arm as a junior, but he talked her into it. He was an athletic post player in basketball. He has some really strong academics. He had a couple of D-II offers, but lots of D-III schools had a strong interest in him and he thought Emory & Henry was a really good fit.”
