Never miss a local story.
Why North Greenville? “When I visited they really liked me as a player. And I really liked the school and how they kept the focus on Christ. I was recruited by a few Division I schools, but I didn’t like the recruiting process very much.”
Major: Sports Management (minor in Spanish)
Notable: Casey was a four-year starter and the team captain, with seven goals and seven assists in the fall. Alliance in the Triangle Football Club, which finished second in the USYSA Region III Championships in the fall. In 2013, he helped a New York Futsal Club win a national championship. ... Casey was senior class president and participated in WCA’s recent mission trip to Guatemala. He was also a National Merit Finalist with a 4.6 GPA, has won WCA Academic Excellence Awards in Bible, chorus, Spanish and geometry. Awarded NGU’s Trustee Academic Scholarship.
WCA soccer coach and principal Wayne Helder: “Casey is a tremendous leader, being Senior Class President. And as a National Merit Scholar, he’s one of the top students in the country. He’s a very gifted and well-rounded young man. As a player he’s a tremendous leader on the field, has a very well-rounded game and is very composed on the ball. He has very good field vision and distributes the ball well. He’s very versatile, and we used him in the middle in the midfield and in the back. He’s played at a very high level with his club team. He’s a natural midfielder. He had some opportunities at the lower levels of Division I, but he felt like North Greenville would give him the most opportunity and I think he could be a big success at the D-II level.”
