The Wake Christian baseball team finished with an impressive 17-7 mark including a 10-2 record in the Triangle Independent Schools Athletic Conference.
The Bulldogs were led by junior standout Brandon Stephens, who was named the TISAC Player of the Year. Stephens finished the season with a .526 batting average, 43 runs batted in, eight stolen bases and five homeruns.
Connor Collins’ .400 average was good for the Hitting award. Adam Jones earned the Defensive Player of the Year with 110 putouts and 20 assists while Kyle Patterson was named Pitcher of the Year for Wake Christian. Patterson had a 6-0 record to go with a 1.75 earned run average.
For the girls soccer team, Dani Mathias earned the Best Offense award thanks to her four goals and five assists. Annah Bishop was recognized for Best Defense.

The Wake Christian tennis team had its work cut out for it going up against two of the top teams in the entire state in its conference including Cary Academy, two-time defending state champions.
Freshman Michael Smith stepped up and played No. 1 singles and doubles, earning him the #1 Award while Liam Edwards won the Bulldog Award thanks to his effort on the No. 3 doubles team that won three matches.
Wake Christian’s softball team also displayed a youth movement as three freshmen, Maggie Lucas, Ashlynn McClung and Logan Winstead were all named to the TISAC All-Conference team.
The freshman trio was at the center of the Bulldogs’ co-championship season. Lucas had a 2.79 earned run average and served as the team’s work horse, pitching all but one inning on the season for Wake Christian. McClung batted .498, had an on base percentage of .735 and stole 31 bases. Winstead led the conference with in batting average at .681 and in the stolen bases department with 41.
On the links, John Frechette’s consistent performance all season long led to winning the Low Average award while Blake Buffaloe won Round of the Year.
