The N.C. High School Athletic Association is holding its annual Scholar-Athlete Essay Content. The program recognizes excellence in the classroom as well as on the playing court or field.
Student-athletes currently enrolled at an NCHSAA member school and participating in at least one sanctioned sport or cheerleading will have until midnight on September 30 to submit a 400-word essay answering the question: “What challenge(s) have you overcome to develop as a Scholar-Athlete?”
One male and female winner will be selected from the pool of entries to receive a prize pack from the North Carolina National Guard and the NCHSAA, including a FitBit Flex fitness wristband.
Essays will be judged on originality, content, organization of material, grammar, and spelling. Visit nchsaa.org for more info or contest entries.
