DENR cites Duke Energy for illegally pumping coal-ash water into Cape Fear River

Several new developments broke in the coal-ash controversy on Thursday: State regulators say Duke Energy illegally pumped millions of gallons of wastewater into the Cape Fear River, a crack was discovered in a dam at the Cape Fear plant, and legal cases over the regulation of the industry continued to play out in courtrooms.
