Being married can be challenging. Add in the additional pressures of parenting and providing for a family and many couples find themselves struggling. Each spring the Southeastern Baptist Seminary hosts a Family Life conference to help couples strengthen their marriage and work together to raise a family. At the end of the weekend, participants walk away with a renewed sense of partnership and understanding of each other.
“We wanted to both serve our community and our students by providing a conference at a very nominal cost that exposes people to what God’s Word says about marriage and family,” says Dr. Daniel Akin, President of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
This year’s conference will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, April 4 and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 5 at Wake Forest Baptist Church, 107 E. South Ave., Wake Forest. The cost is $25 per couple and childcare is not provided. Any married or soon to be married couple is invited to attend. Sessions include Affair-Proofing Your Marriage, God’s Guidelines For Growing Godly Children, Men Are From Earth & Women Are From Earth: Deal With It! and When Christ is Lord of the Home. Registration is online at www.sebts.edu.
“Attendees will learn biblical and practical principals that help them grow in and strengthen their marriages,” said Akin, “They will see the difference that Jesus Christ makes when He is Lord of a home.”
