Get tested for lead
Wake Environmental Services encourages parents to have their children that are under the age of 6 tested for exposure to lead with a simple blood test at their family pediatrician. The ES lead poisoning prevention program helps to test and respond to lead poisoning cases. Lead poisoning can cause learning disabilities, behavioral problems, and at very high levels, seizures, comas, and death. Great Public Places
Pullen Park has been nominated as one of the “People’s Choice” options for “Great Public Places” in N.C. by the N.C. Chapter of the American Planning Association. Through May 9, residents can vote at GreatPlacesNC.org for their favorite place in North Carolina. The finalist will be recognized as the “People’s Choice.”
A spring carnival for children with special needs will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at Brooks Avenue Church of Christ, 700 Brooks Ave., Raleigh.
