Raleigh Girl Scout Beverly Setzer recently earned the Gold Award from Girl Scouts – N.C. Coastal Pines. For her Gold Award project, “Foster Home for Southeast German Shepherd Rescue,” Setzer worked closely with the Southeast German Shepherd Rescue, fostering and training three dogs herself as part of the project. She designed an educational brochure about the breed and distributed them at events. The Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouting. Setzer is the daughter of Lori Lipkin and Craig Setzer, and is a graduate of Leesville Road High. She is a member of Troop #1375, led by Lori Lipkin.
