Woman’s Club of Raleigh awards grants
The Woman’s Club of Raleigh has announced the recipients of its 2012 community grants.
North Raleigh Ministries received $3,000 for their ongoing food pantry project; MATCH, Mothers and Their Children, received $4,000 to help transport children to visit incarcerated mothers; Dress for Success received $500 to provide professional shoes for women; Urban Ministries received $3,000 for pharmacy operations at the Open Door Clinic; InterAct received $3,000 for their 24-hour emergency shelter; The Healing Place received $2,000 to cover the cost for an individual to complete one phase of the recovery program; Mt. Vernon Middle School received $1,000 for the parent education program, dress code, behavior intervention programs and literacy programs; PATH NC, Partners Against the Trafficking of Humans, received $300 to support development, printing and distribution of a “Domestic Minor Trafficking Awareness and Reference Card.”

Democratic Women of Wake County meeting
Democratic Women of Wake County will meet at noon Thursday, May 31, at the N.C. State University Club, 4200 Hillsborough St., Raleigh. N.C. Policy Watch Director Chris Fitzsimon and Public Policy Polling Director Tom Jensen will recap and analyze the results of the May 8 primary election. Newcomers Club of Raleigh meeting

Democratic Women of Wake County will host the 43rd annual Jefferson-Jackson Breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at the Raleigh Convention Center in downtown Raleigh. Registration begins at 8.
