Fall for Art show at North Hills
Midtown Art Consultants and the Roundabout Art Collective present Fall for Art from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the North Hills Renaissance Hotel, 4100 Main at North Hills St., Raleigh. More than 20 artists, including Eric McRay, Constance Pappalardo, Bob Rankin, Libby Smart, Steve Staresina and Amy Sullivan, will be included. Original paintings, jewelry, glassworks and photography will be for sale. Admission is free.
Call for artists for CAT project
The Raleigh Arts Commission, in partnership with Capital Area Transit, is seeking artists for ART-ON-THE-MOVE, original art on the sides of CAT buses. The deadline for submissions is Friday, Oct. 26. Download the application for full details. Original artwork is wrapped onto the buses through a vinyl heat-wrap process. The artwork remains on the CAT buses for a period of six months. Submissions are reviewed by a panel of community members and representatives from the Arts Commission and Capital Area Transit. This Place Matters! Art Contest
An art contest for children and teens called This Place Matters! poses the question: What is your favorite OLD building in Raleigh? The contest is sponsored by the Raleigh Historic Development Commission.
The contest will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, at Marbles Kids Museum, 201 E. Hargett St., Raleigh. Art can be submitted between 9 and 11 a.m. and will be judged from noon to 2 p.m. in a people’s choice selection process and a juried art contest.
During First Friday on Nov. 2, join the community in celebrating the art contest winners and RHDC’s 50th anniversary. It’s Déjà New is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Marbles. The event will include the Rainbow Dance Company dancers and food.
