Krispy Kreme Challenge
Registration is open for the 10th annual Krispy Kreme Challenge, which will be held Saturday, Feb. 8. The race, benefiting the North Carolina Children’s Hospital, will begin at the N.C. State Memorial Belltower at 8:30 a.m.
To complete the challenge, participants will run 2.5 miles through downtown Raleigh to the Krispy Kreme store at the corner of Peace and Person Streets, eat a dozen doughnuts and run 2.5 miles back to the Belltower. The course must be completed in under an hour. Participants can also sign up as “casual runners,” who are not required to eat all of the doughnuts.
Registration will cap at 8,100 runners. N.C. State students can register for $28, and non-N.C. State students can register for $35 until Tuesday, Dec. 31. Supporters, who receive a T-shirt only, can register for $10 until Feb. 5. Children’s promise charity slots are also available until Wednesday, Feb. 5.

Tennis coaches needed
Tennis coaches are needed for USTA Junior Team Tennis for the fall season.
Players at the 3.5 level will be trained as coaches. Teams are composed of children ages 8 and younger or 10 and younger. Practices are held from 5-6:30 p.m. Fridays and 9-10:30 a.m. Saturdays.
The position pays $12 per hour and $8.25 per hour for training and administrative duties.

Pickleball open play
Play pickleball from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday at Flaherty Park Community Center, 1226 N. White St., Wake Forest.
Pickleball is played on a badminton court with a lowered net, a perforated plastic baseball and wood paddles. It is easy to learn but can develop into a competitive game for experienced players.
